Events & Communications Coordinator
Reports to: CEO
Status: Exempt, Full-Time or Part-Time Position
Typical Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 4:30 PM. Flexible hybrid option available for full-time employees. Flexibility required for irregular and extended hours, particularly during the last quarter of the year due to ONC events and programs.
Compensation
- Full-Time: $40,000-45,000 annual salary.
- After the first year, salary will include a performance-based bonus schedule.
- Part-Time: $18.00-20.00 per hour
Primary Responsibilities
The Events & Communications Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of all ONC fundraising events while leading communication efforts to enhance ONC’s presence, engagement, mission awareness, program promotion, and overall support. The role includes overseeing the ON Center event space rentals.
Essential Duties & Functions
Event Management
- Plan, manage, and execute ONC’s fundraising events.
- Develop and achieve revenue and sponsorship goals for events.
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts.
- Provide on-site event management and logistical oversight.
- Work collaboratively with ONC volunteers to assist with events.
- Oversee event timelines, providing regular progress updates.
- Work with staff to recruit and manage event volunteers.
- Cultivate sponsorship relationships to secure long-term support.
- Serve on the Fundraising & Events Committee and act as the staff liaison.
- Partner with the CEO to develop event-related communications.
- Prepare all necessary written materials, including proposals, contracts, and vendor agreements.
ON Center Management
- Oversee the scheduling, operations, and marketing of ONC’s event space rentals.
- Respond to inquiries regarding conference room and event space availability.
- Finalize contracts, proposals, and agreements for event space bookings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, agencies, and the general public regarding event rentals.
- Work with the CEO to update rental agreements and promotional materials.
- Ensure rental spaces are properly prepared, including signage, room setup, and technical requirements.
Communications
- Manage ONC’s social media presence, creating and implementing strategies to engage and grow the audience across platforms.
- Develop compelling content, manage posting schedules, and analyze performance metrics.
- Utilize graphic design skills to create communication materials, including brochures, signage, event collateral, and promotional content.
- Oversee ONC’s website, ensuring it remains updated with current information and aligns with branding.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to promote ONC’s mission, programs, events, and initiatives.
- Partner with the CEO on all public relations, promotional efforts, and external communications.
Position Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
- Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a multi-tenant environment.
- Professional, respectful demeanor when engaging with clients, guests, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Experience in nonprofit event coordination with a successful track record of fundraising preferred.
- Experience with donor databases and outreach preferred.
- Experience in social media management, communication, and graphic design.

- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
