Grafton, WI – The Ozaukee Nonprofit Center (formerly known as Family Enrichment Center), a nonprofit organization that provides collaborative space and support to help sustain human service nonprofits in Ozaukee County, accounces the creation of “Illuminate Ozaukee”, a drive-thru celebration of the holiday season and the Ozaukee community.

For seven nights during the month of December, with the help and collaboration of Ozaukee County supporting businesses, the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center will turn Zeunert Park in downtown Cedarburg into a winter wonderland of holiday lights. Admission to the park is free, though a donation will be requested as the Illuminate Ozaukee drive-thru holiday light show will support and illuminate the human service nonprofits of Ozaukee County

Ozaukee Nonprofit Center is currently looking for area businesses to register to decorate a plot and/or sponsor. There is no fee for plot registration to decorate and each participating organization will be assigned a small section of Zeunert Park. Organizations are invited to bring their own imagination and materials to create a design unique and fun for the season. For some added additional fun, plots along the Illuminate Ozaukee path will be numbered to allow the community and visitors to vote on their favorite plot.

“It will take a lot of helping hands to make our Illuminate Ozaukee dreams a reality. We will be in desperate need of individual or groups of volunteers each night, and help for setup and take down the weeks before and after the event ,” said Carissa Barnes, the Executive Director of the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center. In addition to volunteers each night, the organization will need plenty of holiday lights and decore, the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center will be collecting donations Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm, though they ask you to call ahead to set-up a delivery.

The Ozaukee Nonprofit Center concept began in 1994 when several agencies shared space in Cedarburg, WI. In 1999, four participating agencies moved to a larger facility, the current home of the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center. The center, unique to the county, provides a state-of-the-art building and shared services for a host of nonprofit organizations as well as a professional environment for nonprofit human service agencies to come together and serve the needs of the community. The beauty of the campus model is the ability to offer multiple services under one roof whereas in most communities they are dispersed throughout a large geographic area. The Ozaukee Nonprofit Center’s mission is to sustain local nonprofits for a better world. To learn more, visit www.ozaukeenonprofitcenter.org.
