Grafton, WI More residents than ever are turning to the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center (ONC) for services, resources, and support as community needs continue to grow across the county.

In 2025, 21,956 individuals visited the ONC campus, and partner agencies responded to 21,343 requests for service. The collaborative campus brings dozens of nonprofit organizations together under one roof, making it easier for individuals and families to access multiple resources in one location.

“When someone walks through our doors, they often need more than one type of support,” said CEO Carissa Barnes. “What makes the ONC unique is the connection. Instead of being sent from place to place, people can be connected to the help they need right here.”

Programs Expanding to Meet Community Need

Several key initiatives expanded their reach in 2025.

The Ozaukee Community Baby Bank served 397 families and 982 children, providing diapers, wipes, formula, and other essential supplies that help support child health and family stability.

Working in partnership with United Way, the ONC also helps connect residents to both critical resources and ways to give back. Through the Techquity program, nearly 400 free refurbished laptops were distributed to individuals and families, expanding access to employment, education, telehealth, and essential online services. At the same time, the Volunteer Ozaukee platform connected more than 810 residents with opportunities to support local nonprofits and community programs.

More than half of the programs offered on the ONC campus are provided free of charge, helping reduce barriers for those seeking assistance.

Strengthening the Nonprofit Network

Beyond direct services, the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center provides shared office space, meeting rooms, technology, and operational support that allow nonprofit partners to reduce overhead costs and focus more resources on the people they serve.

In 2025, the campus hosted 126 collective programs and engaged more than 4,600 nonprofit professionals, board members, and volunteers. A recent survey found that 96% of partner agencies say the ONC improves their ability to achieve their mission.

“Nonprofits are facing increased demand while resources remain limited,” Barnes said. “By sharing space and working together, we’re able to stretch resources further and strengthen services across the county.”

Building for the Future

Construction is currently underway on the next phase of campus improvements, supported in part by a State of Wisconsin Flexible Facilities Program grant. The project includes open collaboration areas, a new Telehealth and Private Access Suite, and an outdoor Eco-Wellness Space designed to better support both agencies and the individuals they serve.

While grant funding covers a portion of the project, community support remains essential to completing the full vision for the campus.

“This report reflects the impact our nonprofit network is making together every day,” Barnes said. “As demand continues to grow, continued community investment will help ensure our space, technology, and resources keep pace with the needs of Ozaukee County.”
