The Ozaukee Nonprofit Center (ONC) is proud to announce the launch of the Ozaukee Baby Bank Raffle, a community-wide fundraiser to support the expansion and renovation of the Baby Bank.
The raffle offers participants the chance to win a $1,500 Grand Prize, plus two bonus $50 prizes. Ticket packages are available at $10 for one entry, $50 for six entries, and $100 for thirteen entries. Tickets go on sale September 1, Labor Day, and will remain available through September 21, with the winning ticket drawn on September 22.
“All proceeds from the raffle will directly support the Baby Bank’s transformation into a more welcoming environment where families can select the essentials they need with dignity and confidence,” said Carissa Barnes, CEO of the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center, “every ticket purchased is more than just a chance to win $1,500, it’s an investment in our community’s children and families.
The Ozaukee Baby Bank currently serves hundreds of families every year, providing diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, and more at no cost. Yet demand is growing, and space is limited.
Nationally, 1 in 2 U.S. families struggles to afford enough diapers for their children. On average, families spend $1,000 each year per child on diapers, a cost that many households in Ozaukee County struggle to meet.
This year alone, the Ozaukee Baby Bank distributed more $30,000 diapers, reflecting the urgent and ongoing need.
“Parents shouldn’t have to choose between paying the rent and buying diapers,” Barnes said. “The Baby Bank ensures that families across Ozaukee County can access essentials with compassion, connection, and confidence.”
The expansion project will transform the current Baby Bank into a store-style model, giving parents the dignity of choice and improving ONC’s capacity to serve more families. Right now, the Baby Bank operates out of a small, over-capacity closet space, where supplies are stacked tightly and distribution can feel rushed. With growing demand, ONC often faces limited storage, unpredictable supply levels, and long waits for families in need.
The new space will be brighter, more organized, and designed for efficiency, ensuring shelves are stocked, families can move comfortably through the space, and staff and volunteers can better serve those who come through the doors. Most importantly, the expansion will create a warm, welcoming environment where parents feel supported, respected, and empowered during what can often be stressful times.
