GRAFTON, WI (June 26, 2025) – The Ozaukee Nonprofit Center (ONC) is excited to announce that Independence First will be moving offices within their facility, located at 2360 Dakota Drive, Grafton, WI, starting July 1st, 2025.
By moving into an office triple the size of their current location, Independence First can expand its work to help empower individuals with disabilities through advocacy, independent living skills, information and education, peer support, transition, and referral.
Independence First offers over 40 programs and workshops, as well as various services for different age groups. Their offerings include disability awareness education, independent living skills training, peer support, and accessible recreation. They assist individuals and families with resources ranging from assistive technology and home modification to personal and supportive care services, ensuring people with disabilities can thrive in community settings.
“This is an exciting step forward to expand our impact and better serve individuals with disabilities here in Ozaukee County,” said Tonya Villwock, Independence First ILS Branch Offices Supervisor. “This growth allows us to meet previously unmet needs due to space limitations, and we are committed to using this opportunity to enhance support and accessibility. We greatly value our ongoing partnerships with the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center and its network of organizations, and we remain dedicated to working collaboratively to remove barriers and promote full inclusion within our community.”
“We are thrilled to expand Independence First within our facility this July,” says ONC’s Chief Executive Officer, Carissa Barnes. “They are already a valued asset to the community, and we’re excited to see how they will grow and deepen their impact with their new space.”
