Grafton, WI – Construction has begun at the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center (ONC), where a renovation project is underway to expand services and create new spaces that directly respond to community needs. The project is funded in part by the State of Wisconsin’s Flexible Facilities Program (FFP) grant, with additional community support needed to bring the vision to life.
Two major additions are planned as part of the renovation:
- Telehealth Suite – A secure, private space offering 24/7 access for residents to connect with healthcare providers, supported by reliable internet, a computer, and printing resources. The suite will reduce barriers for those who may lack consistent access at home, ensuring more families can attend critical appointments.
- Eco-Wellness Space – An outdoor area designed to encourage reflection, connection, and well-being. With natural landscaping, gathering area, and space for quiet breaks, the Eco-Wellness Space will serve as a resource for ONC’s partner agencies, clients, and the wider community.
“These improvements are about more than updating a building,” said Carissa Barnes, CEO of the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center. “The Telehealth Suite and Eco-Wellness Space are designed to meet real, growing needs in Ozaukee County — breaking down barriers to care while creating places that support mental health, dignity, and community connection.”
While the FFP grant provides important funding, it covers only a portion of the project. ONC is calling on community members, businesses, and supporters to help move the project forward. Contributions can be made online at www.ozaukeenonprofitcenter.org.
The renovation project is expected to continue into 2026, with updates to be shared as construction progresses. For questions or more information regarding the project, contact Carissa Barnes, CEO of the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center at 262-376-5272 or carissa@oznc.org.
